 Anti-Social Parking

Anti-Social Parking in Bletchley & Fenny Stratford is a resident-led campaign dedicated to making our streets & Pavements safer. Fairer, & more accessible for everyone. We challenge the persistent illegal and obstructive parking that puts pedestrians, wheelchair users, parents with prams, children, and older residents at risk every single day.

Our mission is simple:

  • consistent enforcement,

  • clear accountability,

  • practical solutions that prioritise safety, access, and common sense.

Our streets should work for people, not for drivers who choose to ignore the rules.

This campaign exists because residents deserve better — safer pavements, respect for vulnerable users, and action from those in authority, not excuses.

SAFE a Vision for All

Safe Access For Everyone

Our vision includes creating both physical and behavioural barriers to unsafe parking, supported by public education and backed by robust, consistent enforcement. This means targeted and regular CEO patrols, escalating penalties for repeat or persistent offenders, and clear communication to ensure everyone understands their responsibilities

MKCC has allowed parking chaos to become the norm in Bletchley & Fenny Stratford — years of blocked pavements, illegal parking, unsafe crossings, and residents forced into the road while the council looks the other way. Despite countless reports, photos, complaints and even protests, enforcement remains inconsistent or non-existent. This is not an oversight; it is a failure of duty. MKCC cannot keep blaming resources or procedures while our streets remain dangerous. Residents deserve action, not excuses — and the council’s silence and inaction have gone on long enough.

Residents Taking Action

Queensway  Protests

(Nov 2024 & Jan 2025)

In November 2024 and again in January 2025, residents of Bletchley held two polite but highly visible protests on Queensway to highlight the ongoing dangers caused by illegal and anti-social parking. The demonstrations were calm, respectful, and community-led, bringing together wheelchair users, parents with prams, older residents and local supporters — all united by the shared frustration of pavements being blocked, crossings made unsafe, and everyday journeys becoming hazardous.

Protesters displayed placards, shared lived experiences, and calmly engaged with passers-by, raising awareness of how long-standing neglect by MKCC had allowed these problems to escalate. These events succeeded in drawing wider public attention and generating renewed pressure on MKCC and enforcement bodies. The protests directly contributed to increased enforcement activity shortly afterwards and played a key role in prompting the installation of the Queensway planters as a temporary safety measure.

Despite remaining peaceful and courteous throughout, the message was unmistakable:
residents will no longer accept unsafe streets, ineffective enforcement, or council inaction.

Whilst this was successful on Queensway the fight goes on for the rest of Bletchley & Fenny Stratford
